Sacrifice transitory, seize the everlasting

Abu Al-Ashfahani Nu'aim mentioned a history in his book, Hilyatul Auliya 'wa Thabaqatul Ashfiya':

حدثنا أبو محمد بن حيان, حدثنا أبو يحيى الرازي, حدثنا هناد بن السري, حدثنا أبو الأحوص, عن العلاء بن المسيب, عن عمرو بن مرة, قال

Abu Muhammad ibn Hayyan said to me, (that) "Abu Yahya Al-Raazi tell me, (that) " Hanad bin As-Siry told me, (that) "Abul Ahwash tell me == > from Al-'Ala 'ibn al-Musayyib,  from' Amr ibn Murrah, he said:

من طلب الآخرة أضر بالدنيا, ومن طلب الدنيا أضر بالآخرة, فأضروا بالفاني للباقي

"Those who seek to harm the world hereafter. As for those who seek world, would be detrimental to the hereafter. Therefore, the sacrifice to achieve a baqa mortal (immortal).
