The Meaning of Fasting

So that we can Undergoing Fast With True Worship and which could reach targets as we expect, of course we must first understand what the meaning and function of fasting that we will be living, so that we can bring the benefits of fasting, especially for our daily lives and in the shari devotion to God Almighty.


Fasting according to the language, derived from the Arabic Only just again exactly (fasting). Only just again exactly is the form of the word shama mashdar-yashuumu, in Arabic means amkasa (hold).

Only just again exactly Shaum or (arabic language), means being passive or prevent themselves from something. in the Holy Book Al-Quran, the saying as many as eight times, everything has meaning refrained from speaking. While according sraya '(Islamic legal term), fasting means to hold certain things with the intention accompanied during the allotted time, and for those who are determined as well.

GOD Almighty in the Hadith Qudsi states that:

"Fasting is for me and I will give him a reward."

From the above hadith we can understand that fasting is a means given by GOD Almighty. Us to reach the level of living as a servant of the cautious. Fasting is a form of worship that involves physical and spiritual aspects, which combines the essence of all deeds for every believer.

when someone is fasting, then in the fasting state that he was doing "relationship" or "communication" with GOD Almighty. as when we are in a state of prayer. Provided that we must pray fervently and thawadhu and also ihsan

then we must know what it is ihsan

"Ihsan it is you worship as if you see GOD if you do not see the real god GOD saw you"
